Senior member of Affiliated Engineers' Sustainability Practice, Fred Betz, Ph.D., LEED® AP BD+C, is the Lead Sustainable Designer for numerous major healthcare projects. He provides expertise in advanced building systems integration, whole building energy and water simulation, and controls and diagnostics, to many of the most technically complex and energy and water-intensive building projects in the US and abroad. Betz contributed to the recently completed University of Wisconsin Health: The American Center anticipated to use 50% less water than a standard new construction hospital. Betz received his PhD in Building Performance and Diagnostics from Carnegie Mellon University.
