Judith Heerwagen is an environmental psychologist whose work focuses on behavioral, psychosocial and health impacts of buildings and on translating research into design guidance. She is a research psychologist with the US General Services Administration Office of Federal High Performance Green Buildings. She is co-editor of Biophilic Design: The Theory, Science and Practice of Bringing Buildings to Life which won the 2008 Publishers award for best book in architecture and planning. In 2014 she received the Design for Humanity Award from the American Society of Interior Designers. She has published widely on environmental psychology and the ecology of buildings.
