Mara Baum AIA, LEED AP Fellow, EDAC is HOK’s firmwide Healthcare Sustainable Design Leader. She oversees sustainability across the healthcare sector and leads HOK’s health and wellness initiatives; her work focuses on the intersection between ecological considerations and the creation of a healthy and healing environment. She has been teaching and writing about net zero energy and water for over 15 years, with initiatives for ASHRAE, USGBC, Pacific Gas & Electric, and more. Mara is currently online faculty for Boston Architectural College’s Sustainable Design Institute, where she teaches “Green Building and Health” and “Sustainable Design of Healthcare Facilities”.
