Steven Guttmann has more than three decades of leadership in integrated building design, energy conservation and sustainable design. Since 1991, he has developed his mid‐sized consulting engineering firm into one of the most awarded California consulting firms, receiving national and regional ASHRAE awards for innovation in sustainable design almost every year since 2003. The firm’s San Francisco office was one of the first 100 businesses certified as a “Green Business” by the City and County of San Francisco. Steve has extensive experience in the energy analysis, design and construction of complex projects, including libraries, hospitals, laboratories, and museums. Steve served from 2003 until 2011 on committees that developed guidelines and best practices for sustainability in our nation’s healthcare facilities. He is a 1983 graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a B.S. with Honors in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.A. with Honors in Environmental Studies.
